Budget & Pricing
What the construction company can pay the license holder, so the numbers work for both sides from day one.
Distance
How close the company and the license holder are to each other. Proximity keeps the relationship practical and compliant.
Scope of Work
The company's current scope, or the scope they want to grow into, matched to the right license category.
Revenue
The company's revenue and stability, so license holders work only with serious, established businesses.
Every Trade. Every State.
We focus on certified general contractors first, then building and residential contractors, while still matching qualifiers across all license types, in all 50 states.
Certified General Contractor
Our core specialty. A Certified General Contractor (CGC) can qualify your company for the widest range of work, with unlimited scope on most projects.
Building Contractor
Licensed building contractors for commercial and multi-story projects within their defined scope.
Residential Contractor
Residential contractors for homes and qualifying residential construction work.
Expanding into a new state? Get qualified there.
Won a project in another state, or want to bid on one? In most states you need a primary qualifier who holds the proper license in the state where the work is located before you can pull permits and run the job. Match My GC connects your company with a licensed, vetted qualifier in that state, so you can take the work on the right way.
Qualified Where You Build
We match you with a primary qualifier licensed in the exact state your project is located.
Pull Permits Legally
Become eligible to pull permits and operate in a new state without testing for the license yourself.
Compliant and Supervised
Every partnership includes genuine structural oversight and full compliance with that state's licensing board. Never paper contracting.
Grow Across State Lines
Say yes to out-of-state opportunities and expand your construction company into new markets.

You know the work. Let a qualifier help you grow.
You are great at what you do. You know the trades inside and out and you run real projects every day. Licensing exams and state paperwork are a completely different skill set, and they should not be what holds your company back.
Instead of putting your business on hold to chase a license yourself, partner with a licensed qualifier who can help you pull permits, take on bigger jobs, and keep growing, starting now.

Turn your license into additional income
As the primary qualifier for an established company, you put your license to work and earn additional income while staying in charge of the work. Every partnership is a real, compliant qualifying relationship with genuine oversight, never license rental.
What licensed GCs earn on average in salary from a qualifier partnership.
A typical share of the profit margin earned on each job you qualify.
Income from a serious, ongoing partnership, not a one time deal.
Legitimate qualifying partnerships, never paper contracting. Qualifying-agent laws, such as Florida's Chapter 489, require the license holder to actively supervise and stay responsible for the company's work. Every Match My GC agreement is structured so the license holder provides genuine structural oversight and remains fully compliant. This is a real qualifying relationship, not license rental.

Brett Kean
Built to make contractor qualification clearer, safer, and more direct
Match My GC was built around one simple problem: capable construction companies get stuck because they do not have a licensed contractor attached to the business, while license holders often have no clear way to find serious, vetted qualifier opportunities.
This is not a casual lead handoff. A primary qualifier relationship involves licensing, money, oversight, and long-term business responsibility. That is why Match My GC focuses on clarity first: helping both sides understand the fit, the expectations, and the path toward a legitimate working relationship.
Match My GC comes from real experience. Brett Kean is a Certified General Contractor in Florida who passed the NASCLA exam, making him eligible to hold contractor licenses in 18+ states. He is also the founder of KeanEye Construction, a construction company operating primarily in Florida, and KeanEye Real Estate, a nationwide brokerage that partners with agents across the country on construction deals and more.
Having lived the challenge of connecting a license with the right company himself, Brett built Match My GC to make that process simple, transparent, and legitimate.
The goal is simple: connect the right people, reduce the confusion around contractor qualification, and help construction businesses move forward the right way.
Frequently asked questions
Can an out-of-state contractor work on a project in another state?
Yes. In most states you need a primary qualifier who holds the proper license in the state where the project is located. Match My GC connects your company with a licensed, vetted qualifier in that state so you can pull permits and run the job legally and compliantly.
How do I get licensed to take on a construction project in a different state?
Rather than testing for a brand new license yourself, you can partner with a primary qualifier who is already licensed in that state. They provide genuine structural oversight while your company performs the work, fully compliant with that state's licensing board.
Is partnering with a licensed qualifier legal? Is this paper contracting?
No, this is not paper contracting. Paper contracting, or license rental, is when a license is lent with no real oversight, and it is illegal. Every Match My GC partnership is a real qualifying relationship where the primary qualifier actively supervises and stays responsible for the work, in line with state law such as Florida's Chapter 489.
What is a primary qualifier?
A primary qualifier is a licensed contractor who takes on responsibility and supervisory authority for a company's construction work under their license. It is a recognized, legitimate role, not a way to rent a license.
What does Match My GC cost?
It is $97 to join the platform, for both construction companies and license holders. When you enter into an agreement there is a $2,999 success fee, about one month of the contract value, paid by the construction company. Optional Florida DBPR application assistance is available for $499.
Which states and trades do you cover?
We match in all 50 states and across every trade, including general, building, and residential contractors plus roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool, and more. Our primary focus is certified general contractors (CGC).
